SOS Polarized Sunglasses™ Full Spectrum 100% UVA/UVB Protection - Featuring one-piece PolarMax lenses that provide distortion free, opthalmic quality vision and extreme eye comfort. There are no laminates to seperate, and nothing to degrade the polarization, as with cheaper laminated lenses. Laminated Polarized lenses can delaminate due to faulty bonding, aging and exposure to heat. SOS Dive Optics Polarization filters are distributed evenly throughout the lens and not laminated. SOS PolarMax™ Multi-Layer Filtration lenses block nearly 100% of surface reflected glare. This makes them ideally suited for use around water, snow, and for driving. Avoid cheap polarized sunglasses, because hazy delaminatd lenses may result in eye strain.
Dive Optics™ Sunglasses are also recommended for driving, and in fact can reduce the relected glare that comes off a long, flat surface such as the hood of the car or the highway. Polarized Sunglasses can also be used indoors by light-sensitive patients who are recovering from eye surgery, or by those exposed to bright light through windows.
Light reflected from flat surfaces is generally horizontally Polarized. This reflected light is blocked by the vertically oriented Polarizers embedded in the lenses, that work much like mini-blinds for your eyes, angled to maximize the protection from this annoying and sometimes dangerous glare. The result is clearer, safer and more focused vision.
